What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is an injection that targets collagen loss that affects our overall appearance as we age. Collagen loss, bone remodelling and fat redistribution all contribute to changes that result in a less youthful appearance.

The science behind the Sculptra

The main ingredient of Sculptra is 3D poly-L-lactic acid, which is a substance that is biocompatible and can be metabolized and broken down by the body. It belongs to a biocompatible (absorbable) material that can be compatible with the human body. When injected into the dermis layer, it can gradually stimulate the self-generation of collagen, thus plumping the skin and improving facial wrinkles, sagging, and depressions. It effectively makes the face plump and firm, restores beauty, and achieve the youthful look.

What does Sculptra do?

Lift, Tighten, Contour

Using the Sculptra to supplement the lost apple muscles and modify the contour line, through the liquid thread lifting injection technique, lift and tighten the sagging facial skin, achieving the effect of a tight contour line.

Promote Skin Collagen

Reshaping the lost facial structure, the Sculptra stimulates the production of collagen protein, making the skin structure firm and strong, injecting youth energy from the inside of the skin, and strengthening the overall support of the skin.

Plump, Restore Radience

Activating the skin's regenerative energy, allowing collagen production to reach its best state, regaining the plump and tight appearance of youth, and improving the skin's texture to be more elastic and radiant.

Post-Care Instructions

1. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and extreme temperatures for the first 24 hours after treatment. -Avoid wearing makeup for at least 4 hours after treatment.

2. Gently massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for the first 5 days after treatment. -Apply ice to the treated area for 5-10 minutes at a time, as needed, for the first 24-48 hours to help reduce swelling and discomfort.

3. Avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, for the first few days after treatment, as they can increase bruising.

How often should I undergo Sculptra?

One session of Sculptra is not enough to achieve the desired effect. To achieve the best results, it is usually necessary to inject it 3-4 times. The second injection is recommended within 30 to 40 days after the first injection to give the skin sufficient time to regenerate collagen. The effect can last for about 18-30 months. The filling effect can last for about 2 years, and after 2 years, the injected area will not return to its original degree of concavity.

Advantages of Sculptra

Safe, long-lasting effect: The duration of the effect is 3 times longer than that of hyaluronic acid, lasting up to 25 months. The effect is natural: gradually improving, with a soft touch, and a more natural and long-lasting effect than other fillers. Stimulates collagen: improves skin texture and wrinkles, making the skin firm and elastic.

Suitable Candidate

1. The Sculptra is a type of beauty injection suitable for mature Patients, and facial injection is better for Patients between the ages of 30 and 60. Patients in this age group experience collagen loss in their facial tissue, which causes sagging and relaxation of the cheeks, resulting in nasolabial folds, marionette lines, sagging breasts and buttocks, and so on.

2. If there are problems with dynamic wrinkles and contour depressions on the facial skin and tissues, then the Sculptra can be chosen before the age of 30.

What's the difference between Sculptra and Dermal Filler?

Dermal filler is injected into the skin to increase tissue volume and make the skin appear fuller. The effects are visible immediately, but the body begins to metabolize it soon after, and the results typically last for about six months to a year and a half. However, due to the characteristics of the material, hyaluronic acid injections can easily lead to failed outcomes if the injection site or dosage is not properly managed.

PLLA stimulates the growth of collagen in the skin and the effects gradually become evident over one to three months. It can tighten the skin on a large scale, improve wrinkles, and produce fine and natural lines. It improves the previously disjointed contour lines that were a result of excessive injections of pure hyaluronic acid.
